About

James – known affectionately as “Bird Boy” – began his journey into falconry at just 14 years old. Now with over 12 years of hands-on experience, he has trained, worked with, and cared for a wide range of birds of prey — from owls and hawks to falcons and even eagles.

What began as a hobby quickly became a lifelong passion. Captivated by the natural instincts and hunting skills of these incredible raptors, James found himself working in bird of prey pest control and later joined the team at Cardiff Castle, where he delivered public falconry displays and enjoyed sharing the rich history of falconry with visitors of all ages.

After recently relocating to Pembrokeshire, James founded Pembrokeshire Falconry to share his love for these remarkable animals. His goal is to offer authentic falconry experiences in West Wales, giving visitors the rare opportunity to handle and fly a trained hawk in a safe, friendly and relaxed environment.

Whether you’re looking for a family-friendly falconry experience, a unique day out, or the thrill of a guided hawk walk in Pembrokeshire, James is excited to welcome you and introduce you to the world of birds of prey.
